Let’s set some goals:
It’s a new year and new you… we are here to help you Thrive this 2018. A new year is the perfect time to start setting goals for yourself for the year ahead. We have all heard the resolutions “I am going to exercise more”… “I am going to drink more water” … “I am going to lose weight”… “I am going to drink less alcohol”. But these resolutions often fail and by end of January we have given up on what we have set for ourselves. Many surveys have found that fewer than half of people who make resolutions actually stick to them. The problem is not the resolutions or goals but rather the way we make them.
So try these some simple tips to help you stick to your new year’s resolutions –
- Have one resolution rather than several – this will help you to stay focused.
- Change your mind set otherwise your health goals will not be achieved. It’s not the gym or diet or less alcohol that will change you… it’s your mind to get you to the gym, change the way you eat or drink etc.
- Be slow and steady in your approach… don’t try and run a marathon in a month! Start small and easy and slowly build up as you go. Remember, if it was quick and easy, we would all be doing it.
- Believe in yourself… just because you gave up last year, doesn’t mean it has to be the same this year. Don’t be so hard on yourself… have fun. The goal is to have less stress and not more!
